Buy used furniture. DO NOT rent to own. The final cost will be more than twice the new purchase price. A friend used to manage one of these stores and he spent half his time repossessing stuff. If it turns out you can't pay, they "track" your social security number, so you won't even be able to get phone or cable service hooked up. My friend got a great sectional couch for only $400 from the pennysaver. It was in like-new condition. Buy used furniture bit by bit until you have what you need.

Most places that take weekly payments are dealing with people with POOR credit and you are usually renting. Therefore paying twice what something is worth..

It's time for you to learn to make monthly payments . That is how the world works.

Watch the ads and buy one piece each week then you will own it. And usually (if you are careful) you will get much better quality furniture.

Otherwise you will be making payments for years for poor quality furniture that you will never own. It will take about one month to know that you got crap.

Good Luck

Rent-a-centre
If you can't afford to buy your furniture outright don't buy it. Keep saving until you can. These place that let you pay weekly end up charging you more than twice the actual price. If you get in the habit of NEVER buying anything (except house) - this includes a car- that you can't pay cash for you will never have to worry about money problems and living cheque to cheque. This also means not putting anything on credit card (unless you are paying the bill in full the month it's due)

Quite a few places do this in the UK but normally pay monthly, all you have to do is work out the weekly cost and put it in a pot every week ready for the monthly bill.

The only one I can think of that's pay weekly is Mutual they come round every week and collect the money.

Easy Home rents furniture and I often use them for furnishing homes for sale that are empty. Their prices are quite decent.

DO NOT DO THIS!

The companies who do this charge a lot more than they should.

THE FINAL COST CAN BE TWICE THAT OF CHAINS SUCH AS IKEA.

Buy second hand.
