I need to fit three worktops in my kitchen. The overall shape will be a 'U' shape, so all three will join at the ends obviously. Instead of using them horrible looking plastic or metal joiners, I want it to be a smooth flush finish ??

I have some old veneer furniture that is looking pretty rough. You know the kind, it's cream with timy strips of gold and has gold accents and handles. Late '60's, early '70's. I have tried cleaning it, but my great-grandmother was a smoker and it is very stained and miscolored. I am too scared to use any really strong cleaner on it, because I am worried it will ruin it. Someone suggested bleach paste, any experience with that? I will not get rid of it because of who's it was and it has been reinforced and is very sturdy. Can I paint it?

I have a gas boiler. It only switches on when i run the hot tap. But when i switch it to heat the gas burner will not ignite. It has been going fine for 2 years. The water pressure is now showing as 0. On the bolier manual it says this should be between 1 and 1.5 and this should be topped up when its below this. I took the boiler apart and cant find where to top the water up at. Would this be the problem or would it be caused by something else? Does anyone know where to top up the water at?

I moved into this house 3 years ago. When checking the attic I found black charred wood in the attic with 2x4's holding the roof up. When it is windy or damp outside it filters into the house. My allergies are driving me crazy. How can I check it?

I have moved into an apartment with a concrete backyard. I'm not allowed to rip up the concrete. Can i still put topsoil over the concrete for small flowers and shrubs? Any ideas on how to creatively go beyond sinple potted plants? Thanks!

So far I've been looking at Sears and Home Depot for circular saws, table saws and sanders. We build our own custom furniture sporadically, but we've always borrowed tools so I think it's time we get our own. What features should I look for and is there one brand that is much better quality?

I have a live xmas tree that I purchased the day after thanksgiving. The base is always full of water. But, now the branches are beginning to droop and they snap if you try to lift them. Is there a way to revive this tree until xmas??

There is a somewhat gritty feeling in the center section of my Corian counter top where I do most of my baking. The outer edges are still very smooth. What is best thing to use to remove that grittiness?

I heard you should add coffee grinds to rose bushes in an outside garden; I am interested in the care of cut roses.

My cats absolutely love catnip. How do I grow the stuff in my garden? I live in South Africa on the East Coast and we have a sub-tropical climate. Good rainfall all year round except dry in winter.

I bought a dishwasher the other day and when it arrived it seems to plumb it in I need something called a spigot. I've tried Homebase and Wicks, but they didn't seem to have one. Where can I get one, or is there something else I can use?
