I just think that in this modern age, something could be added to washing up liquid to take away the stains whilst they are being washed. I know that a dish washer does this but I can't afford one. Has anyone any easy answers.?

The Yahoo community helped greatly to select the size of the materials to build a 2nd florr for my shed. 2 X 6 beams with 3/4 inch plywood is what I will use.

Question: With 2 X 6 beams, I assume I will need 8 " nails to secure the beams to the wood frame. How many nails on each end to lay the beams?

Also, what size nails or screws to secure the flooring to the 2 X 6 beams?

I have worn out my SAS, but they were good for my other job. They aren't the best for standing and walking on cement all day, every day.
I want something very comfortable that are best for standing/walking on cement. Any suggestions?

I had a bit of a mishap at a xmas party last week and spilt some red wine on my shirt. I've put it through the wash but it still has some yellow blotches where I spilt wine on it. Is it possible to get this out?

Is there anything special I need to do...or just put down plastic...does it need to be secured to anything? If so, how. And is there a special product to use? Or just any old plastic will do? I have a 2/3 basement, 1/3 crawl space and currently there isn't anything in the crawl space but dirt. Thanks for your help!

I have to organize a room that has basically been used to put everything that no one knew where to put. It's so cluttered that you can't walk though it. It's a bedroom that I have to get ready to be occupied AND everyone in the house has stuff in the room that they want so I can't just bag everything up and put it in storage. I feel so overwhelmed I don't even know where to start. Anyone have a step by step plan or know where I can get on to organize this mess?

I live in an old house and the floor joists and the sub floor are very dark. My house was built around 85 years ago. On the other hand, I know of 2 homes about 30 years old and the joists and plywood are light in color.

Does wood darken over the years and/or what causes this? Or was it dark to begin with? thanks
