Can you paint a rusty chain link fence? What do you use?

use a wire brush on it and try to get in the folded corners
then paint it good with rustoleum

Please understand that painting a chain link fence is usually a two to five year fix. The key is to fully remove the zinc coating that acts as a rust inhibitor so the new paint will stick. The unweathered sides will still have zinc. Paint thinner will work if you apply in a mist from a pressurized container. Rinse.

Step 2 involves spraying Rustoleum Rusty Metal primer with a rented sprayer from all angles; much wasted paint. Don't fret.

Step 3 is the most important. Purchase only Rustoleum INDUSTRIAL oil based paint (your choice of limited colors) and spray (using rented professional sprayer) from all angles with two coats, minding the drying times.

Anything less will be a monumental waste of time and money.

Being that you were planning on spaying her, I would go through with it now. What your vet says is right. And yes I've seen dogs mate through chain link...i've also seen a male CLIMB the chain link and get into the kennel with the female. I've also seen a male's face torn to shreds after trying to CHEW his way through a chain link fence. Mating is all males think about when a female is in heat and will stop at NOTHING to get to her...they'll even starve themselves. I would recommend having her spayed to ease your mind and put a stop to all this worrying and the worrying that will take place as her pregnancy progresses.

with a thick nap roller 1/2 or 3/4 inches, and a brush for where you can't reach with the roller. you can use aluminum paint or Rustoleum

paint the fence in a rust inhibitor first - DO NOT USE TREMCLAD- best paint for a fence would be rollbar chasis paint- you can find this at an automotive store.
