I have some christmas lights outside on my house. Recently it has been raining and the extintion cords are wetting the lights. The lights were working before this rain. I have tripped the lights on the switch and nothing no lights. Could it be the rain on the extension cords that are wet. Please need advise!!!

I'm about to paint my bedroom - found some mildew behind some furniture and in the closet - obviously the walls aren't well insulated and there seems to be an air flow problem. The walls are plaster. If I just wash away the mildew with water and bleach, and then cover it with a oil primer, will that keep it from coming back? Or should I do something more?

When I use hot water I get brown water! Sometimes I get black "flecks" with it as well. I have my hot water heater serviced yearly and the guys who do it have no information to offer.

What could be the problem? Should I be calling a plumber?

I have a light switch in the bathroom that controls a fan and the light switch . This has 2 white wires and 2- black . This feeds into a grounded plug in with 2 - white wires and 2- black with a ground wire.I have tried every confirguration , but still have no power in the bathroom . All other plug/lights work int the house . Is this a breaker issue? or am I not hooking it up correctly?

I am a taller girl, and I have problems with my jeans shrinking in length. When I buy them, they are perfect, but as soon as i wash them, they shrink up and I am no longer able to wear high heeled boots with them because they are too short. I heard that dry cleaning them first before you ever wash them helps, but I don't know that I believe that. Does anyone know what I should do about this countiuous problem?

Hi gang,

I was helping my mom put up some primer on her walls and in error I put the primer on the plastic framing around the windows. What would be a quick and easy way to remove this stuff from that location? Help!

Ok I am purchasing a mobile home and the roof has some leak issues, I was going to cover the whole thing with bitchutane and shingle it, but someone told me to use tar paper and shingles I have also decided it is too flat and needs a better pitch so what is the best pitch and the cheapest way to add one (single mom raising a 5 month old on a limited budget with a pretty good knowledge of construction, roofing etc)
