We just finished our basement and were told that it makes sense to get the air ducts and furnace cleaned afterwards. Should we get the returns cleaned too? It will add quite a bit to the cost

I took the top off and there is a slime ball looking thing in there? I called the extension office and they told me they were related to the growth of mushrooms nearby. They are 2 inches diameter. Thanks for answers!

I just left my home in Michigan for an extended winter vacation (6 months). I left the thermostat on 52 degrees, shut off the water supply in the basement, and drained the faucets. I have a gas water heater. It's 20+ years old (original). I turned it down to the lowest temperature setting ("warm"). Should I have turned OFF the water heater? I'm not even sure there's an on/off switch. Could something bad happen if I don't? Should I find a friend to go in and turn off the water heater? If so, how to do it? At the circuit breaker box in the basement? What about the water heater's pilot light? And what if the water heater can't be drained? Also, should I have unplugged the washer and dryer? I think I have a gas dryer. Help!

When you see The Gap, make a left, and then keep going until you see the house with the painted pink garage. Then make a right, and it's the third house on the left. Adjacent from the Subway restaurant.

My lawn has many numerous small patches of what appears to be overturned sod. Each area is about 8 feet in diameter and has been completely destroyed with 1" to 3" chunks of sod overturned. I suspect that it is skunks digging for grubs. Can anyone confirm or elaborate on this?

We moved into our apartment and it had fleas in it (we think, because my ankles have been eaten alive) and so I started wearing socks and pants and keeping my baby off the floor, and we hadn't been bitten in weeks but just today I have been bitten twice and my baby has been bitten once. I know that flea life lasts 2 weeks? I thought maybe if they didn't eat anything they would just die off since the females need a blood meal to lay eggs. Spraying is hard with an infant, especially with it being winter and having to vent the place out afterwards, not to mention that you have to be away from the home for a number of hours. Any alternatives to solve our problem?

Not sure whether to buy a 12, 24, or 36 tooth TCT blade (I'm using a hobbiest table saw so the blade diameters are a lot smaller than normal, thus the lower tooth numbers compared to a 10" blade)

My water cooler has been acting funny recently. Hot water works no problem. But the cold water side is the problem. When I push the spigot, sometimes water won't come out normally. Sometimes it drips when I let it go. Sometimes it works fine. Before it works fine though, water will come out real slow for a few seconds. It's pretty frustrating especially when I'm thirsty. I removed the spigot cap to get to the line directly, and water doesn't gush out. So its definitely NOT the spigot gasket, spring, or operation.

I shaked and hit the machine. Resetted it. No go. Also the air vent for the tank isn't blocked.

Whats going on?

If so, how? Please tell me. I am so confused. I was told to use bait and foggers and boric acid. So I bought baits and then read the box. The box says not to use foggers or powders around the baits. So...? What do I do? What are your best tips? Roaches are so nasty and I want them GONE.
