they are driving me crazy they hover around sweets and the bath rooms

They are gnats, if you want to get rid of them for good, put 2oz of cider vinegar in a juice glass and add two to three drops of liquid dish washing soap, mix this up and set around in several areas of your house, leave them set for a day or two then look thru the bottom of the glass! I used this remedy this year and changed the solutions several times, but it did work.

I agree with what Doc.Shell said. It needs repotting. Leave that old dirt far from where you do the repotting, and before repotting, drag the plant, roots and all, through a sink full of warmish soapsuds to get rid of those critters. The soap won't hurt the plant at all, but if there are any bugs hanging around, it will probably kill them. These are bugs that probably live in or on the soil, so spraying the leaves of the plant doesn't do much. And, yes...cut back on the watering. Good luck!

We turned all the lights out and lit the gas burners on the stove they flew right in and we got rid of tons at a time. Maybe 5 minutes a night for a week?

Put Moth Balls every where they hate the smell of it buy some mesh material at walmart 57 cents a yard cut enough 2 put about 6 moth balls in use a twisty tie your problem will be solved

empty your garbage when it gets full ,air out the house with the windows open. dont keep fruits on the countertop at all. good luck

They are Gnats. They'll be gone by Thanksgiving if you live in the north.

make sure all foods are put in containers. trap one of them and take it to your county extension agent. they should send it to the agricultural university and identify it and give you tips on how to get rid of it.

They are nats. Poor bleach in all your drains.
