Countries in Europe have an on and off switch for an outlet, how come there are no switches. Also, I don't think people realize that even if something is connected to an outlet, electricity is still flowing, regardless if an appliance is on or off. So next time, when your electricity bill comes, and its sky rocket, now you know why.

My wife left a half-gallon container of fresh apple cider in the backseat of her SUV. The bottle subsequently fermented and burst --- apparently several days later. The liquid soaked into the carpet in the cargo area and the smell now permeates the entire vehicle. We've had the interior professionally cleaned, shampooed etc. without any improvement in the smell. Any ideas, suggestions, reccomendations short of getting rid of the vehicle ?? Is this a smell that eventually just "goes away" ? Or are there any combinations of ?? peroxide, baking soda etc. that may work ??

My stupid contractor painted my wooden window frame and my door frame with primer. I didn’t think I would have to tell the project manager not to paint the wooden sections!

Okay...My husband saids I have a black thumb. I just bought a house with a huge yard and several well established gardens. There are rose bushes, Huge hydrengias, Forshithias, and lots of thing I cant Identify. I wanted to know if I should cut any of these back before the snow starts flying. I am determained to maintain these gardens when the spring comes and I dont want to kill anything. What should I do with all these plants to protect them from the winter? Thanks in advance for the help.

Do you need to scre the threshold down or can use just a sealer under it? If you have to use masonry screws do you set the door and get it plumb and then drive the screws or do you have to pull the door out and try to set up some anchors under the threshold? The stupid company who made this door doesnt have any instructions on how to install the door with a concrete slab.
