Just moved into a new rental and the house has suspected asbestos tile. The landlord offered to put carpet over the tile, but hasn't offered to test the asbestos. Also, this tile is chipped all over the place and coming/breaking up in many spots. Can you simply put carpet over broken up asbestos tile? It seems like fibers can make their way through the carpet, especially if you use a vacuum.

thanks

This is probably a daft question as the answer probable already exists but can I just clarify.

The solution to radiators working upstairs and not downstairs (assuming the pump is working) seems to indicate that I need to turn of all the warm radiators and leave 1 cold one open to force the water to it and maybe remove the airlock.

My question is to turn off the upstairs radiators do i turn off both valves/taps or just the one with the thermostatic controler on it.

Sorry to be an idiot.

The squirrels are a major concern as my greyhound tries to get them and will risk serious injury in the quest to catch them and still this does not deter them.

I am buying a new flat and due to the proximity of the flat to the road / pavement i would like to purchase the film that makes your windows reflective - like one way mirrors - so i can see out but people can't see in.

anybody got any ideas where i could get this from?

how difficult is it to fit decking? it looks simple enough.... i have basic DIY knowledge and would like to learn.

the garden is a very odd shape, so it will require a lot of angles.

should i give it a go? or no?!

I need a new machine and want to support local trade (also, if they sell them, I am more likely to get a local service/engineer). Would you recommend Hotpoint or do you think I should go elsewhere and shop around a bit?
