I was telling a friend and she told me she thinks full will fit queen. but, i want to make sure before I go out and spend all this money on bedding that doesn't fit. {thanks for your help!}

we had to relight the pilot light yesterday and now when we havnt got the heating or water on the pilot light is making a slight noise still! It never used to make a sound at all the only noise we heard from it was when we turned on heating and hot water! is this normal or should we get it checked out?

The 3-way valve stays open and the pump running. I have read about the pump running on to dissipate heat, but my boiler also comes on and off aswell, so the radiators still get hotter and the house ends up much hotter than the room stat set point. Have changed room stat for new one, all other controls seem ok. If I turn the mains power off, then the valve shuts and the boiler turns off. When the power is turned back on again the system is ok, until the heating is called for again next time. Any ideas????

By modern old house I mean it was built with indoor plumbing, electricity and natural gas for heating and cooking. Probably built sometime in the 40's or 50's and is on piers (pillars), has or had an attic fan for ventilation/cooling.

Is there a check list on how to inspect a house before buying somewhere on the net that I can print?

I live in a rented house, it has double glazing and storage heaters, however they don't really seem to be able to deal with the cold all that well, the house in the middle of winter is never warm. My landlord has reccomended getting an electric heater rather than him contacting the landlord about doing anything, how expensive will a 2500W oil filled rad cost to run roughly?
