it just drops down fast .i heard there is a spring or something missing where the metal part hookes from the door to the stove.is there something i can do to stop this besides try to find a spring thankyou.

This is simple: the spring inside the base (over) snapped out when you opened it. You have to take the door out, look on the other side, you'll see the spring, reattach it. It's strong.

Take the Model # and Serial # to an appliance repair shop (look in phone book) and he/she will order the spring/hing mechanism. Probably between $10-$20.

Like any big items in your home, such as a dishwasher, refrigerator, you want to call to have a specialist come to your home and look at it. You paid a lot of money for the item, so I would have a repairman come out and fix the problem. Don't try to do it yourself, the holidays are coming up and if you cook, you are going to wish you had, had it fixed! Look up the maker of the stove, call and arrange for a repairman.
