I honestly think it is a case of one upmanship.2 weeks ago I got tired of it getting dark so early,so I hung some tiny white lights on a ficus tree on my front enclosed porch. She called me Martha Stewart and said that my house really gets noticed now.(Whatever, lady!)

Mostly I did it for my 7 year old son who enjoys it!

A landscaper is asked to design and build a fenced in rectangle flower bed. The flower bed is to be make up of two different varieties of flower with one forming a 2 foot border around the other. The garden's owner already has a 100ft square of flower she wants to use on the outside border. Since these flowers are already paid for, the landscaper's only profit will come when he makes from selling the fence and inner flowers. The landscaper should choose the dimensions of the bed to maximize the cost to the owner. If fencing cost $25 for each foot length and the second flower variety cost $38 per ft^2. what is the maximum possible cost for such a garden???

My orange tree has a bunch of oranges that are open and split. Should I pick them all to let it "start over"? Any other advise to help ensure some good fruit this year?

I built a smoker. It is 3 x 3 inside. well insulated. i put one electric hotplate burner inside and I can bring the temperature up to 145°. I need the temperature to reach 200° for my jerky. The question is this...... Will a second burner like the first raise the temperature more or not. I personnally feel two will still only heat to the 145° mark.

I was told it could take 24 hours- but I have to use the item in 7 hours. Is there an alternative? (not superglue please it isn't strong enough). How about the 5 minute epoxy? Is that almost as strong as gorilla glue?

I have a pear tree but I don't know the type. The pears are round and juicy with a tough skin much like the asian pears that I see in the market (those are tan in color and mine are greener). Most of the pears are nice and round but many get deformed with huge indentations and are very asymetrical. They are still very good to eat but they don't look too pretty. Does anyone know what is causing this and what to do about it?
And if I could offer an extra ten point to anyone who can give me a name for my pears I would.
