I was told it could take 24 hours- but I have to use the item in 7 hours. Is there an alternative? (not superglue please it isn't strong enough). How about the 5 minute epoxy? Is that almost as strong as gorilla glue?

Gorilla glue should begin to set in 4 hours or so, but it won't develop it's full strength until around 24 hours after application. Since you don't say what you are building or what your going to use it in, I would say if the joint is also secured with another device (nails or screws), you may want to use an alternative adhesive. The use of an epoxy should give you strength as good or better then the gorilla glue.

read the box and then double the time. You don't want to risk it not being set.
