1 of the wheels on my sofa was damaged causing a plastic friction mark when i moved it, almost as though little pieces of plastic came off and got matted to the carpet. Have tried a stiff brush, carpet cleaner and hot iron on damp teatowl and still nothing :(

We move into a new house in a few weeks and know that main room that needs re-doing is the bathroom.

Looking around on the internet we have found some nice bathroom suites with toilet, bath and sink for around £700. Obviously this doesn't include the fitting

Is it cheaper to get a fully-fitted suite from a big chain or order the suite online and pay a local guy to fit in?

So what would the costs be to get someone in to fit it all out? It's difficult to find this information online.

When i put my hot water tap on, my gas meter goes at the same speed as when my central heating is on, thus my meter reading is always very high, and i dont use the heating that often. Does anyone know why this is?? It is really bugging me. I have a condensing boiler.

We're trying to decide on a spa. Inisghts/opinions on Hotspring spas (Tiger River line) much appreciated. Also, does it take a lot longer to heat back up if it's 110v (vs 220v)?

Well at work we have soups and condiments. My question is do you think it would be worth it to purchase a garbage disposal for old soup and old condiments instead of dumping the old smelly food into a garbage can?

I have this old tree stump in the front yard. Removing it is out of the question for now, so what could I do to make it look more appealing in the yard? The more suggestions the better.

I am refinishing my kitchen cabinets and find that acetone does a pretty good job of knocking the shine off, but is there another product that would work easier? I will be repaining with oil based enamel.

I need an average of how much electricity different appliances throughout the house use. My roomate thinks I made her electric bill double however I know it is physically impossible based on the limited appliances I used while I lived there. Thanks!

I am thinking of buying a house that has the old ugly wood paneling in all the rooms. Is there anything cheap I can do to not make them look so out-dated? Can they be painted without a lot of sanding and prep work? If so, what is the best type of paint?

The string starter on my trimmer broke. The only thing keeping me from being able to replace the starter string is what looks to be the centrifugal clutch. How do I get this off so I can take the plastic cover that's covering the string starter off?

Help! Does anyone know how to get rid of these disgusting bugs please?! These darn bugs live in carpets, they are very small and mainly in homes, they start as larvae, then turn into a beetle and fly away. In the meantime, I hate seeing them around my house. It's not tons we see, but maybe 2-5 per week, but that tells me they are there and others we don't see. The pest control said that lots of homes have these, and though they are not a danger at all, can only be annoying, all there is to do is thorough vaccumming, and I do do that, but would love to rid these bugs. I couldn't spray my house because I fear those chemicals and my children in the house. I have seen them from time to time in the living room, but we are removing the carpet and getting hard wood flooring, still, the bedrooms have carpet and I don't want to get rid of the carpet in the rooms. I'm constantly cleaning the house and keeping neat and tidy, I don't know how or why these bugs are there! Any ideas please?
