You could call SEARS appliance repair, or take the model and make of your washer to your nearest appliance parts store and ask for a new timer.
The timer may have gone bad and is doing cycles out of order.
If the machine is NOT ON then you need a repairman.
This part is about the third of the cost of a NEW machine and most of us can replace it with ease.

I would call the repair man as your valve deal isn't shutting off so your control thing is wore out and needs replaced.

It sounds like the fill valve has something in that is keeping it open.
