This is an easy one...the furnace gun is the actual burner itself...its kind of a trade term...

Usually you will get 20+ years out of a furnace heat exchanger and firebox...sometimes what will go first are components on the burner itself (primary control, cad cell, fuel pump, blower motor, etc)...its like $300 for a totally new burner and like $1100 for a complete furnace...choice is really up to you but I personally only fix that which is bad....

Tough call. I would have the furnace checked out by a professional furnace repair man. If the furnace is more than 10 years old and you can afford it I would look into replacing it. Newer furnaces are more efficient and will not cost as much to run. The price of fuel, be it oil or gas isn't going to go down in the future. Replacing the gun could cost as much as a new furnace depending on the brand and availability. Good Luck.

Never heard of a furnace gun. Does she mean the burner or the pilot light? If it is major you'd be better off getting a new furnace. Have a heating and air conditioning mechanic you can trust check it out.
If you have to get a new one, investigate going electric! Don't trust gas furnaces or Stoves in mobile homes. If you are in an area where heat pumps work good get a heat pump. But if not get a regular electric furnace. I know where I live heat pumps are a waste of money.

I am not sure I have ever heard of a furnace gun,but if the furnace still lights and works okay it may just need to be cleaned and have some preventive maintainance done to it. My dad is a plumber.

Contact a Mobile Home Servicing Service and ask them what it would cost. Mobile Homes have a different type furnace then a regular home.

in any trailor single wide, double wide, etc, you are better off throwing the furnace that comes with it away and get a real furnace. the furnaces the companies put in the trailors are the cheapest thing they can find. and are usually very dangerous. I am a maintainance man of 12 yrs. do your self a favor get a new one or a heat pump.
