You can use zip strip but you will have to polyurethane it or stain it and polyuretane it.You can also leave it bare if you so desire.I am a painter and have been for 20 years.

As Brian says - stripper is the way to go. If the project is indoors, and you're worried about the obnoxious smell that goes along with most strippers, there's a fairly new product called Soy-Gel - made from soy protein - that works well and hardly has an odor at all.

Easy now House Owner! I ordered Anderson wooden windows for my new house. I painted and stained the interior of my house myself. Yep when I got to the windows, I forgot I wanted to stain them, and I primed them! We left the windows painted and stained the trim. Never had anyone even notice in the six years before we sold the house. And the new buyers didn't notice! So chill out. It's done! Quit stewing over spilt milk, No One Will Notice! If they do, tell them to go home!

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.

paint stripper. you will have to strip all the paint, and then give it a good sanding to get all of the primer out of the wood grain. good luck. you may want to plan on a darker wood stain to cover the residual primer.

I would use a heat gun...be careful not to scorch the wood...but a heat guy should make the primer blister..then sand.

I would try to use a paint thinner and a puddy knife to scrap it off. that might do it.
