i was wondering if it could be the subpump.can clorax or someother disinfectint be put in subpump without doing harm to the pump?

no dont put anything in the pump , its likely its leaking, use lots of boxes of baking soda down there.

I'm not sure what it's called but I picked up a product at walmart 4 my basement 2 get rid of the musky smell & it works $2.00 can't go wrong it's in the laundry section it's a medium containor has holes on the top of it depending how big your basement is you might need 2 of them.Good Luck

moldy basement? ozone generator or ionizer will work. We also used potassium pelets but I don't know what the effect might be on the pump. You can also hang charcoal in nylon stockings around the basement to absorb the smell.

First off, you need to treat any areas with bleach to kill the mold. (make sure the area is properly ventilated.) Then you need to go to your hardware store and buy a masonry sealer. This "paint" will seal the masonry and prevent moisture from seeping in. Once this has been accomplished, install a dehumidifier/air purifier.

we used a dehumidifier-worked very very good. Just have to remember to dump the container of water out, or we ran a hose to the drain.

get a dehumidifier they get rid of musty smell very good
