It has always been my family's tradition to decorate the tree after our Thanksgiving meal. My mother started it because she enjoyed the holidays and loved looking at the tree. Now that she is gone, it always reminds me of her. It is a tradition that I now do with my kids. Thanks for the question, it brings back good memories.

Start Decorating day after Thanksgiving. Real Tree doesn't go up until at the most 2 weeks before Christmas.

My mother has always started the day of, or the day after thanksgiving. But this year is my first christmas in my own place, and the first christmas as a newly wed. So I feel like you, and want to get started with the christmas decorations, and make everything look really holiday-esc. Holloween didn't quite do it for me, it wasn't very extravogent, so i'm really looking forward to Christmas. The wintery apeal, bright lights, and red bows...
I'm thinking this year i'm going to start to decorate around the middle of november. People have said, i might get sick of christmas if i do that, and 'cant wait until it's over'.

Not until at least December. The tree doesn't go up until two or three weeks before Christmas.

I don't like it when the decorations are up too early. Then by the time Christmas actually comes, they aren't special anymore.
