I'm in the middle of having my kitchen done by a friend of friend, not on the books, cash only. We agreed a price and half way through, he has had to add an extra £500 to build extra cabinets and to hire a skip which he has over priced me as i called a skip company myself. He has also smoked in my non smoking flat, answered my telephone and left my front door on the latch when he left for the day. He wants his money on sunday, what should i do?

I don't know if I should use pavers, cement or if there is something else I could use that would be less work and cheaper. I have plenty of yard, but it is all grass. Any suggesions would help.

I would like to plant some basil and mint outside in my little garden. Can I do it now and where to get the seeds? Or should I wait until spring? Thanks for your help.

I have moved 10 times in 8 years. I am so tired of having to pack, unpack and find places to put my stuff. I have lots of antiques and stuff I want to keep. Have had yard sales and tried to scale down. Am currently having a horrible time deciding how to decorate. Maybe I am just tired of it all. Any suggestions appreciated.

I can not replace the whole furnace due to limited budget and mostly attic access problems. So I need to find a heat exchanger that I can replace the cracked one with. York furnace model #P1HGD15N10001a (1980ish). Or can it be retrofitted with a newer heat exchanger. Is there a creativeway to do that?

Thank you,
Freezing near Detroit.

The finished attic rec room in my new home has burnt orange carpeting, which is quite lovely with the aged pine walls and skylight - a very "warm" feeling room, quite ski-lodgey, actually. The walls are angled - as in an attic or a ski lodge - and so are not conducive to hanging artwork. My rec room furniture is red leather, glass and chrome - quite cool and modern. Is there anything I can do to make this furniture work in this room??? Please help - I cannot afford new furniture or carpeting!

i rent a house and i have landlord who does nothing. the roof in my room has been leaking for the past year, he has supposedly fixed it but it still leaks.

Now, he hasn't fixed the hole in the interior which is developing mold as well as the whole wall. the wall is turning yellow, brown and black. and the paint is chipping.

I've getting sick a lot lately (flu-like symptoms, rashes/bumps on arms, caughing etc...), are there any possible health concerns as a result of mold on walls?

How do i make him fix this problem?
What is the legal way to withhold rent?
How do get a health inspector?

thanks

Its a brand new Carrier system, and I'm a new home owner. The air conditioner rocked on all summer long, and last night, I turned to electric thermostat over to heat for the very first time...and nothing happened. Is there something that I should turn on first? Honest, I'm not blonde, however, I may be a goober!

I am looking to buy a new washing machine. I have never bought one before. I want something efficient and good for the enviroment/resources but that does not cost a TON of money. My old one was free from a family member and it decided to break down completely. Any advice/critiques are welcome. Thanks in advance.
