I'm a short guy. But I love to shop at Abercrombie, Hollister, and the like. However, their idea of a "small" is not anywhere close to my idea of a "small" (their "small" looks like a "large").

Anyway, I want to shorten my shirts to better fit me. Is there a certain way to do this? Do I need any special threads? Will a regular sewing machine work?

I went to a saw mill and purchased large HUNKS of scrap wood to use in my fireplace. These are some seriously hard, dense pieces of wood, pretty sure its oak. I know if I was using a wood stove they would burn hot for quite awhile. but I cant seem to get it catch in my fireplace. I have been attempting to burn it for a couple of hours now. all the small pieces of wood and kindling lit and burned w/no problem. This piece is getting scorched and black, but its not giving off any flame. whats up with that?

What's up with my furnace? I have a Honeywell programmable thermostat set for 68 degrees. The burners will run for 5-10 minutes or so and shut off. Now I know the blower should continue to run to evacuate the fumes, but with 30 seconds the burners kick right back on. It runs non-stop. Why?

The ceramic tile in my home is white. The grout was originally white but throughout the years it has become a dirty grey although it is clean. The walls are eggshell, baseboard, cabinets, tables, etc are oak.

Does anyone have any suggestions. I don't want anything real drastice in the event I ever want to sell the house.

What I know I don't want are ferns (i live in the NW, we have plenty) or an invasive vine or any kind of ground cover that spreads out of control...or for that matter, bamboo. Ideally I'm looking for perennials that add color. multiple suggestions that I can place together would be great. Thanks

my tile grout, which was done today, is 2 shades too light. i bought dove grey, when it shouldve been medium grey.

my idea is to get a small pint of darker grey paint and use a tooth brush to gently color it a little darker, and then use a clear grout sealer spray on it.

What other alternatives are there besides re-grouting???????

please help thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
