You don't tell us enough. Depends, depends, depends.

If you are Zone 5 or warmer and they are already in the ground, do nothing. They should come back next year.

If they are not yet in the ground, fuggedaboudit. Too late.

If you are in Zone 4 or colder, fuggedaboudit. They're history.

Mums are a short-season tender perennial. Enjoy their fall color while it lasts!

always thought chrysanthemums as a "present plant" (enjoy in flower then throw away). but would love to know more about zone 5, 4 etc. 1st answerer sounds as thought he knows his stuff.
