A house I own has thick moss growing on the roof. What's the best way to get rid of it. I read scraping it off is not a good idea, and will damage the roof.

I love moss. It's fuzzy, velvety, and soft. And it's cute. Does anyone else have feelings about moss?

What is the BEST way to make potpourri out of roses given to you?? I am very sentimental and love saving roses from my husband. I know that all you do is let them dry up but over weeks, months and or years it gets this moldy smell or just doesn't look right. And also what would be the best container (open, airy, closed...) to keep it all in? Thanks!

I live in a university residence building (apartment-style). There is a tree outside my apartment, approximately four meters from the wall of my building. I would like to hang an inexpensive bird feeder in the tree. In my old apartment (not school-owned) we were not allowed to hang bird feeders on our balconies because they apparently attracted rats. Do you think it would be safe to hang a feeder in a tree four meters from my building?

[I refuse to ask the residence services staff, because we don't get along (we got in a fight when I moved in and found love letters and spilled alcohol inside my supposedly clean apartment, then again when they accidentally gave the keys to my storage locker to another student who then went through all of my stored belongings).]

We had a bizarre surprise tonight - a good-sized toad was inside our toilet just under the rim. I'm just wondering if there was a way he might have come in through the plumbing, or if he must have found some other route. I don't know much about plumbing so I don't know what's possible. In case it is relevant ... we have a septic system. Anyone know?!?

By the way... the kids are trying to talk us into keeping the toad for a pet, in which case it will be named "John." And the next time someone goes in the toilet it will be referred to as "toad stool." And since it was in the potty, our son is very interested in trying to get his sister, the princess-fanatic, to kiss the toad.

If you were building a house from the ground up, what is the most complete supply list you can come up with. It has to do with a project for work. For the sake of this question, lets say the house is only 700 sq ft and one bed one bath.

My wood is not holding paint to well, and I would like to have siding put on, but I need the insulation (foam board) added too, as it is an older home. I wonder about the wood on there now, not letting the new siding sit level. Just wondering!!
Thanks!
