If you were building a house from the ground up, what is the most complete supply list you can come up with. It has to do with a project for work. For the sake of this question, lets say the house is only 700 sq ft and one bed one bath.

Hello Princess!

You didn't mention if this house will have a basement. Typically, slabs (concrete) for residential homes are are the basic 3000 regular (3000 lbs per square foot) with 1/2"rebar on the perimeter and wire mesh in the field with concrete at a 4" depth. This is acceptable and not worth the worry.

The size of the house has nothing to do with material that are acceptable to building departments.

As far as types of wood, there is an industry standard. Pressure treated is applied against any concrete surface and KD (Kiln dried), common 2 bye lumber is the structural lumber used in the rest of the house. There are new engineered products that are available, but they are similar to KD in rot and insect resistance.

Building a home, from the ground up, can be a tedious task if one attempts it on their own. It is best to, at minimum, have a contractor available for consultation during the process.

To answer, in the detail that it seems you seek, your question more detail is needed. Have building plans been drafted? What are your requirements? What is the budget?

As you may be able to tell, these are things that can not be easily be answered in this forum.

Good luck with your project.
