I can give you an average here, with these parameters.
A 18 X36 pool with 250,000 BTU heater will heat it up that 10 degrees within 20 hours, IF the pump is sized correctly, IF the air temperature never drops below that of the pool water, IF the pump is allowed to run constantly so that the heater stays on.
If those conditions are met and your party is in 24 hours, no problem.
