Just moved in a home that was built in the 1930s. Worried about carbon monoxide. Should I be worried or not?

No, just have your local gas company provide a free inspection to put your mind at ease. Don't let anyone confuse you with CO and CO2. CO= carbon monoxide, CO2 = carbon dioxide ( same thing you exhale).

Any heating device can be dangerous if not handled correctly. Propane or natural gas are among the safest heaters in home use, as opposed to coal furnaces, kerosene heaters, and even electric wall heaters. Generally an ingredient is introduced which will allow you to smell the otherwise odorless gas. Carbon monoxide is a danger not just of heaters but can be present from other sources in and around a home. Besides having the heater checked out, install a carbon monoxide warning device that will alert you to its presence. You can't smell it, which makes it doubly dangerous. Also see that your heater has proper ventilation or provide it with slightly cracking a window if your house is one that is quite airtight. Carbon monoxide poisoning is rare today, fire is more likely the danger with any heater. Rest assured that with care you can use your heater safely.
