I'm 45, with fairly stable powers of around -9 in both eyes. My doc advices that in my case lens replacement is preferable to Lasik since it prevents cataract possibility also. But is this method proven? By the way, can a natural lens be so easily replaced by synthetic lens?

i have been to the eye doctors a few times in the last month when i first went in everything that looked clear was near sighted. the computer said i was far sighted... after the docor dialated me eyes everything that was clear was for far sighted.... so he gave me a perscrition based off of what i saw when my eyes were dialated now the problem is i still can see clearly and have tried 4 diffrent perscriptions and still cant see clearly.... what could i do?? should i talk to him about rechecking my eyes and this time not dialating them and go off of that script?

I started wearing glasses about 7 months ago. However, when i dont have my glasses on, i have blurred visio, double vision, etc. This never used to happen until i started wearing glasses. Is this normal vision activity when not wearing glasses? Why?

I been having problems with my eyes since I got my eyes dialated. I wanna get it checked again but how would they check my retina or my eyes? Because I don't want to get dialated since it wasn't too long ago and those eye drops caused problems. Do they use some machine to check it?

I have night and day contacts that are supposed to last for a month. However, I have the same contacts now for 4 months. And they don't bother me at all. I have never cleaned them since the day I put them on because I can wear it all day.

Is this bad? My eyes don't hurt at all, they feel perfectly fine.

Alright, so today i went to the eye doctor. The nurse did some test and then sprayed something in my eye and said to wait 30 min. for the medicine to work. The doctor came and did the eye test and prescribed me glasses. Now at home when i tried reading, the words all became blurry and i had to move the paper back to read it clearly. My glasses are for seeing things far away not reading. So is it because of the medicine i got sprayed with or are my eyes dying on me?
BTW i'm 15.

I work in a kitchen and I had oven cleaner sprayed in my right eye. I followed the instructions and rinsed my eye under running cold water for 15 minutes. My boss gave me some eye drops and it made my eye sting again, so I rinsed some more. I had visions of my eye dissolving and losing my eyesight. I'm much more calm now. My eye feels tight and is only a little blurred right now. I live in a small resort beach town in Alabama, so there was really nowhere I could go tonight. I guess I'm going to wait and see how my eye feels in the morning and what it looks like. Can anyone give me any best case and worst case scenarios? I mixed myself a toddy, so I'm a little more relaxed now. Any and all information is needed. thank you.

b/c thats how much my glasses were b4.So i have to wait until i get the money. my glasses broke in October & my vision is getting blurrier by the minute. Even my math teacher said I gotta get my glasses soon b/c i can't see the board at times.Um how much do contact lenses cost? Like if I called 1-800-contacts or looked up the right contacts for me,that i can get from a store, how much would they cost? It would be good to have them until I get my glasses..I just hope it doesn't cost a lot

i actually heard it from a good source that wearing glasses can make you dependent on them, making your eyesight worse. I am questioning this "mith" because while my sister and i both wear glasses, only she dutifully wore them each and every day, yet... her eyesight got worse while mine stayed the same.

I have been a contact lenses user for 15 years now and I have been using toric lenses for the past couple of years. In the past few months my right-eye astigmatism has gotten worse and the toric lenses correction is not really enough. I work on the computer all day and it makes some difference in terms of vision comfort. I can't focus very well and by the end of the day my head feels heavy (sometimes headache included), specially above my eyes. I'm not sure what to do. Keep on using lenses and hope the astigmatism will recede (and deal with the discomfort), get lenses for myopia and glasses for astigmatism, do LASIK and use glasses for astigmatism?... I'd appreciate your input on this situation. Thanks.
