I saw the neurologist first and he referred me to the opthamologist. The opthamologist confirmed the diagnosis of papilledema. I have read about both conditions, but the information is rather vague. How serious is papilledema? Will I lose my sight all together?

OK all of my American cousins wear contact lens or glasses. I'm an American and I got glasses in 9th grade. My brother has glasses and my sister might be getting a pair soon.

My cousins in New Zealand, none of them got glasses or contacts. They are of the same family branch as us too. My cousins said its probably the water...

What could be the cause?

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the responses, but I should add the gray ring does not go away. I was involved in a car accident some ten years ago. I wear glasses because of it, and my vision is blurred most of the time. My doc said "It's a sign of age." I am only 55. age my ****. I am very nervious of doctors (I wonder why).

But because I've never had glasses before I didn't really know what the optometrist was talking about when he said one of her eyes is 9 and the other is 6. Also, I don't mind her having to wear glasses seeing that glasses aren't ugly like they used to be and we found a really cute pink pair that she really likes. But the doctor said there will be some magnification. Does this mean that her eyes are going to look huge like coke bottle glasses?

Everyone in my family has glasses, but I lucked out and don't have them. But starting this year it has been hard to read things on computer screens and tv's and digital alarm clocks. We have powerpoints that our teacher puts notes on and puts it up on the computer screen but I have to move pretty close to be able to see it but otherwise it is blurry. And when I look at digital alarm clocks and it very blurry and tv's i can't read the words on it far away. My sight isn't THAT bad but is this going to get worse?

Is there something that can be done about not-so-bright eyes? a cure-all or remedy so the need for eye-drops diminishes? I have friends with pretty eyes simply because the whites of them seem so bright and mine aren't. Please help me.

I don't have insurance and I know that eye exams are probably different but an estimate would be nice. I don't know if they're around 50 bucks to 200 bucks or 300 bucks to 500 bucks... So any information would be nice :] I'm trying to order some contacts online but they need an uptodate prescription and mine is a year in a half old. thankk you!

a few days ago i went out to town with a few friends and i got a bad headache and my eyes felt squinty and achy and slightly blurd but not much, one of my friends [who wears glasses for distance] could see i was squinting and asked me to read out some signs at a distance, i only got two out of five correct, we then went to a park area and then he then asked me to put on his glasses and wear them for about 30 mins, my headache and eyeache had almost gone after a fer mins. after the 30mins he told me to read five more signs at a distance, and i got them all, i then gave his glasses back, as soon as i removed the glasses things were more blurd than before and took quite a while to go back to slightly blurd by that time my headache came back. he said i was short sighted and needed to go to the optitions,
could this be the start of short sight?
or could this just be eyestrain? because i am 22 and short sight mostly starts between the ages 11-20
i do use a computer and read a lot.

If you spend long periods of time in front of the computer or a book for example, does it give you or help to give you lens faults? I'm not talking about the radiation and stuff just whether it will cause you to need glasses.

When i look at bright colors, my eyes hurt. I can't see underwater. I cant even have anything next to my eyes besides glasses. When the doctors shine lights in my eyes, i can barely open my eyes enough for them to look into them. If I could just be unconcious it would save me soooooo much time, unwanted nightmares, flashbacks, episodes where i wake up in the shower huddled in a corner crying with cold water pouring down on me. Please let me know if anyone you know has done the procedure unconcious...... thanks a bunch.

okay, maybe not BLIND blind, but my vision has gotten very bad because of this.

i used to have 20/20 in which i could see to the very bottom line of the eye chart. but ever since i stared at the sun, my vision has never been the same.
( i thought it would be okay because i was wearing sunglasses.. but its not!)

also, i think another thing that may have effected my vision is sitting really close to the TV when watching it.

HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY VISION NATURALLY??

plz don't say carrots..

i heard somewhere that if you do certain eye exercises that it improves your vision.
