I've had some pretty sloppy contact maintenance at times and never suffered more than some discomfort, but I wouldn't make a habit of it. If you have to use contact solution 2 days in a row then go ahead but I wouldn't put it to chance doing it everyday.

I think I usually pay something like $13 for a double pack of Renu Multiplus but it's been ages since I've had to buy any because somehow I ended up with like 6 bottles of it.

Do not use solution 2 times. Especially if you use peroxide system. The peroxide is neutralized overnight so the 2nd night you would be storing it in saline which would definitely not be safe to use- it would have no cleaning or disinfecting properties.
The reason you use solution is to clean and disinfect your lenses to minimise the risk of infection. so scrimping will just increase your risk of infection.
Are you in the UK? Where I work, vision express we offer a direct debit scheme. You pay monthly and get your lenses and unlimited solution so you do not need to worry about cost. You also get free eye examinations, free contact lens checks, free replacement lenses if you lose or damage yours and £80 off glasses (unlimited number of times).
So yes, you can buy lenses for cheaper off the internet but when you cost in solution, exams and the other benefits you are MUCH better off buying from your optician!

Do NOT use the solution for more than 1 night. No matter how clean your hands are, you run the risk of introducing a bacteria which would grow very happily in the solution. This could give you an eye infection. Depending on what bacteria grows, this could lead to blindness. Not worth the risk. If you can't afford the solution, just wear your glasses.

You are not supposed to use it more than once. That is what causes eye infections. To avoid - you need to always wash your hands first before you handle your contacts. Stick with a brand of solution don't use multiple brands.
