I was just at a gas station and a child about 7 pulled the pump out of the car and sprayed gas onto his face an into his eyes.
The old man with him wouldn't do anything for him even when I gave him a new bottle of water to flush his eyes.

This is driving me crazy for a child I do not know and cannot do anything about. The old man got mad when I gave him the water and called me names and threw the bottle of water at me.

Some days you cannot win for losing.

What damage can be done to the eyes if they are not flushed out promptly?

Thanks.

Got my first contact lens exam yesterday, i've been wearing glasses for years, and finally decided to bit the bullet and go for contacts. I'm now on day two (altho i do't have the actual scrip till i've been wearing them a week, and go back to doc for second eye exam to make sure i'm tolerating them or something).
They made me insert them at the docs, then remove and insert them again before letting me leave, and boy did that take forever. lol. Anyhow, my question is this....how long does it generally take to get good at inserting them, it's still taking me several minutes each eye, I know it's practice that will do the trick, and now i'm determined to do it. In general, does anybody know how long it will take me to get the hang of putting them in and taking them out?

i have a prescription of +10 and +8 in both of my eyes (for those who dont know what this is- it means that my eyes are like majorly blind lol)
it means that any glasses i wear have to be squished to make the lenses thinner otherwise they look like bottle tops. this still makes my eyes look really massive and im really self concious about it, but i cant get contact lenses and laser eye surgery wont work either, any suggestions on how to make me look better?

I have a pair of glasses with plastic frames. I broke them a while back and tried to crazy glue them back together. Well, it didn't work, and there is glue residue on the frames. What do I use to get the glue off the frames, that won't eat away at the plastic itself?? Nail polish remover didn't work.

A couple of weeks ago I was working in the yard and poked myself in the eye with a stick. I went to an eye doctor and was treated for a cut cornea. According to the eye doctor I have a jagged cut all the way across the cornea.

When can I go to a vision center for an eye exam? I was told that since I cut my cornea with an organic material that the new cells taking the place of the cut on the cornea don't hold as well as the original cells and can become detached somewhat easily.

It's been a month and a half since I went with a prescription from my optomologist to an optical outlet to purchase a pair of glasses. I paid $425.00 for the total cost with my master card. Everytime I call I get the run around. I haven't been able to pick up my eyeglasses because I am told they are not ready and no one ever calls me. In my receipt it is written,

NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Eyeglasses or deposits left over 60 days.
Customer's own frames or lenses which are being used or repaired.
No refund on Eyeglasses.

I have a gut feeling that they are waiting for the 60 days to run out so they won't have to give me a refund.
I was told "that the reason why my eyeglasses are not ready is because the lab relocated."

Can someone please tell me what I should do. Please give detail. Thank you.

This Black orb has grown over the past 3 years. I can now focus directly on it. It looks like a solid black disc with a small "hair-like" hook string on the bottom.

2 years ago I was told "everyone gets them - nothing to worry about". Well it has grown larger and larger, and I can control it enough to directly focus on it.

Also, there is frequent nausea and vertigo, particularly when trying to drive.
I am going absolutely bonkers with those who claim "oh yeah....I have that now and then, nothing to concern yourself with"

Finally, the eye often because red, sore and inflamed. I do where glasses for myopia and astigmatism, and I have Fuch's syndrom.

Please - someone explain to me this black orb in my left eye. I am going nuts with the constant agravation.

hello.....

for the last couple of days, I've had a very sore, almost excrutiating pain in my eyes and sockets whenever I move my eyes to the left and right more than just slightly. It's almost a fist clutching pain and it sends a shock of pain in my head.

I would say it started a couple nights ago after I threw up. While in the middle, I saw 'stars' or spots. I threw up because I was eating and a friend showed me a disgusting picture. Ah, it brings back horrors now.

Anyways, any info and insight would be awesome.

thanks!!

I'm 25yrs old and I just got glasses for the first time. I just got them today and I'm having a bit of trouble adjusting to them. I just read while using them and I found after about a half hour that I kind of liked reading without them better, even though when I wear them the print is darker and sharper. I kind of have a bit of a headache right now actually.
When I did the eye exam, I had more of a problem seeing the bottom few lines of the chart on the wall, so maybe I need them more for distances.
I guess I'm just looking for some guidance as to how I'm supposed to feel with these new glasses.
