It's been a month and a half since I went with a prescription from my optomologist to an optical outlet to purchase a pair of glasses. I paid $425.00 for the total cost with my master card. Everytime I call I get the run around. I haven't been able to pick up my eyeglasses because I am told they are not ready and no one ever calls me. In my receipt it is written,

NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Eyeglasses or deposits left over 60 days.
Customer's own frames or lenses which are being used or repaired.
No refund on Eyeglasses.

I have a gut feeling that they are waiting for the 60 days to run out so they won't have to give me a refund.
I was told "that the reason why my eyeglasses are not ready is because the lab relocated."

Can someone please tell me what I should do. Please give detail. Thank you.

Call your credit card company, and have the charge removed from your bill.

Then call the optical company and cancel your order.

Good luck - they are trying to rip you off

A month and a half does seem like a long time to wait for your glasses. Sometimes a frame can be on backorder or they may have difficulty making your lenses depending on the frame and type of lens. I don't think they would intentionally hold your glasses for 60 days, they wouldn't be in business if they did that and have nothing to gain. Besides, it says no refund on eyeglasses, it doesn't matter the length of time.

I'm not sure what they mean by a relocated lab. I would suggest calling back and asking for more detail as to why it's taking so long. Just be nice about it, they'll be more likely to help a nice person than a nasty one.

I often wonder why people go elsewhere to purchase glasses rather than buying from their optometrist. Obviously it couldn't be that much cheaper ($425) to go to an optical outlet. An optometrist's office usually has far superior customer service and far more knowledgeable staff.

Good luck!

I will agree with Oreo. Call your credit card company NOW and cancel the order and then call the optical to cancel the job. They may counter with "hey , they just came in today. Come on in and pick them up." If they do, refuse. Find another optical shop.

I use a lab that just relocated. They didn't skip a beat when it came to getting orders out. This sounds like a scam outfit.

The ONLY reasons for a delay that long would be that the frame or lenses were backordered from the manufacturers, but I highly doubt that.

Go get your money now, and tell the people you'll take your business elsewhere.
This is ridiculus, I mean it, don't stand for this, also, contact the credit card company and tell them that you want to contest the bill, they will help you every way they can.
