I can make myself lose focus on an object, so its like I kinda see double of the object im looking at. My one eye will go off to the side and look one way while my other eye will look streight ahead. What causes this?

As your describing, you are intetntionally making your eyes see double so there should be no cause for concern. Although, seeing double can be the side effect of many visual conditions such as cataracts and strabismus, but in that case you couldnt control it. "If the two eyes are misaligned and aim at different targets, two non-matching images will be sent to the viewer's brain. When the brain accepts and uses two non-matching images at the same time, double vision results." http://www.strabismus.org/double_vision.html
So basically the images from each eye aren't fusining into one like they usually do, so then your brain is seeing two images. There is also a posibility you could have strabismus, if its a problem talk to an eye doctor about it.

I have this too. It is called strabismus. If you have it from when you are a young child (like me) then you will usually not notice when it happens, because your brain will cancel out one of the images. I can also make it happen on purpose, but it usually happens when I am not paying that much attention.

I think that the cause is weak eye muscles. You can get surgery if your double vision affects your life significantly, but for most people an up to date glasses prescription helps, because the eyes don't have to strain as much.

I had a lazy eye (corrected with surgery) and can do the same thing, usually when exhausted. Even though your eyes work in synch, you must have a dominant eye. That would be my guess.

wow, the same thing happens to me. If you wear glasses, the prescription may have gone out, causing one side of your eye's muscles to get stronger than the other causng that "wondering eye" effect. if you don't , it just means one side of your eye's muscles to get stronger than the other. You can either try to get a stronger eyeglass perscription, or you can have surgery to get it fixed.

I can do that aswell lol...
I just bring my eyes into the side closest to my nose. Not sure what causes it though...but it's intersting don't you think?

You cross your fieds of vision thus making you see double. Don't do it too frequently or you can cause a headache.
