How did it work out? For better or for worse? How long ago did you get it done? How much did it cost?

Im thinking about getting lazer surgery on my eyes so that I can see better sometime in my life. I would just like a little info on it. Thankyou for any help you can give.

I am doing research on contacts because I want to get them. I'll be going to the doctor's soon enough, but I want some knowledge before I do. I'm leaning towards RGP, but I'd like some input.

I'm 13 and turning 14 in 6 months. Besides astigmatism, I do not have any serious eye conditions, weak eye muscles, or excessive redness or irritation. I use the computer 2-3 hours a day.

The biggest reason I want RGP is because it CORRECTS VISION. That is a huggeee plus. However, does it improve vision for /all/ eyes, or at least most?

I do know that RGP lenses can be uncomfortable. Just how uncomfortable are they? Do they actually hurt? Are there ones that are more comfortable, and if not, are there drops available that help a lot? I don't mind a small awareness, but I'd prefer them not to hurt.

How much can it cost to get a pair of good RGP lenses?

Any other input on the advantages and disadvantages of RGP lenses from wearers, ex-wearers and eye doctors will be great. :)

i've worn the contacts for 10 years now without wearing glasses. I used to wear glasses before the contacts. But now that i got these new glasses, everything, far, is blurry and unable to see. I asked the doctor right away if this is normal, and she said yeah, cause i have to get used to not having contacts on...this seems odd to me. Can someone tell me if this is accurate, what the doctor said and if so, how long do you think it'll take before my vision is normal

I am sixteen and my eyesight has just gotten bad recently. I never had problems before last year, but now everything that is far away is blurry. Most people that I know (who are nearsighted) had their vision decline around the age of twelve. I was wondering what may have caused this to happen.

*Its not hereditary because non of my immediate family and only a handful of my extended family wears glasses.

Every spring pollen and fluff from cotten trees affect my eyes. They get extremely itchy, irritated and sore. I went to London Drugs and bought Visine eye drops for eye allergies two springs ago... I was recently using it when my friend told me that it was bad for your eyes. Is this true? I want to see an eye doctor but not sure if it's necesary...

When I look I see things that look like worms. I still see it even when my eyes are closed so I think it's in my eye. Is it dangerous? Sometimes I also experience a really sharp pain in my head and vision kind of blurs out of focus for about to 5-10 seconds is it related in any way?

I've taken out my contacts but I went camping and my eyes felt gummy and hurt like I had contacts in and I had been around cats but I didn't and hadn't. I washed my eyes out and eventually felt a little better but they still feel gummy even under my eyes on my cheek bones but washing them out and Visine hasn't helped.

i read somewhere that if u use eye drops like visine before u go out that it makes ur eyes look clearer, it enhances the color by making the whiteness clearer and makes u look healthier so i do that all the time, especially when i go out with my bf and with my friends. i have been doing it for about a month now and havent noticed any bad reactions but i was just wondering if this could potentially hurt me in the long run? could it do any damage to me and my eyes? serious answers only please :)

p.s i wear contacts in case that matters..im not sure if it does...and i use the regular visine that moisturizes and gets the red out (thats what the bottle says lol)

My girlfriend's doctor has recommended that she refrain from having sex during her two week recovery time following her eye surgery. Why?

We are lesbians. Does this make a difference?

This December my dad and I were going to get Lasik surgery together but after watching some videos of the procedure, i'm not so sure anymore. Also, I am nervous that I will not be able to keep my eye steady when they use the laser, what if i move it and the laser touches the wrong part of my eye?! I am really nervous so tell me about your experience, good or bad, how you felt, and if you are happy with your results and if the procedure was definitely worth it.

Here are the movies I watched so let me know if it was anything like this, or just comment on them in general.

Can I get a retinal detachment after I get LASIK or Phakic IOL's? Since, technically, you are at 20/20 vision, doesn't the risk of a retinal detachment go away?

Also, are retinal detachments common or rare in children with a high prescription?

Either the tint or the anti-glare coating is peeling off my eyeglasses. I read somewhere that it could be removed, but when I called the store I was told that was not possible. Is this true or should I try someplace else? What should I do. I am not able to purchase new glasses at this time.

Basically can a computer be the culprit for having to get glasses? I recently found out that I have become far sighted. Is this a direct result from too much computer time starring at the screen and such?
