well i have dark brown eyes and i got some green colored contacts but they kind of make my eyes a golden hazel color. is there any possible way to get a shade of light green or dark blue?

Yes, you need opaque colours. Did you tell your contact lens fitter that you wanted green or blue eyes? Did you try on the colours to make sure you liked them before buying?
If you told your fitter what you wanted and he/she did not have you try them on first to confirm that you liked the colour before ordering, return them to your fitter to exchange for another colour that has the effect you want.

It may not be possible. The best ones to try would be opaques. They don't let as much of your natural color show through. It really stinks that with light colored eyes you can go to any color you want and with dark eyes, there's not really much you can do.
