I've taken out my contacts but I went camping and my eyes felt gummy and hurt like I had contacts in and I had been around cats but I didn't and hadn't. I washed my eyes out and eventually felt a little better but they still feel gummy even under my eyes on my cheek bones but washing them out and Visine hasn't helped.

I would recommend a trip to your optometrist. Keep the contacts out until this is resolved. In the meantime, pick up some visine tears (not regular visine) or contact lens solution, like optic-free and rinse the heck out of your eyes to remove any allergens.

Your optometrist may prescribe an anti-allergy eyedrop like patanol, or may determine that you actually have an infection which need anti-biotic treatment. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is often painful or can feel like a foreign body in the eye.

Good luck, and I hope that your eyes feel better soon.

Try washing them out with Johnson's Baby shampoo. It will clean your eyes without pain. Follow the washing with an eye wash, not Visine. It has a cup that comes with the solution and you can bathe your eyes in it.

Use the eye wash 3 or 4 times a day, it will help.
