Sometimes I also experience a really sharp pain in my head and vision kind of blurs out of focus for about to 5-10 seconds is it related in any way? I usually fall and land on something really hard and had injury 2 times.

I don't know how to reply to these messages since I'm new... and I can't see a doctor because I'm 14 years old. Flashes occured 1-2 years ago and the things in my eye as long as I can remember...

Thanks for the help guys...I like blue angel's answer that it's just nothing i did have it for a long time. The pain in my head is probably unrelated; I'll see a doctor ASAP. Thx...

There are a couple of really good answers here, and they are right on the money. I, too, have "floaters". They look like black, squiggly worms, floating across my eyes. They're especially noticeable when looking at a white wall, or bright blue sky. Sometimes they're just blobs, with little squiggles hanging down. I looked it up on the net, and found out what they were, what caused them, and that they were nothing to worry about. Now, about your sharp pain, blurry vision and falling down...that's more serious. I agree with one of the other writers here, that you shouldn't trust your health to amateurs. Go to a doctor. Talk to your parents about your problems and see if they won't agree that you need to see a doctor. If they don't have insurance, see if there's a free clinic in your area. This isn't something to play around with, as it could be one of several very serious conditions. Or it could be something simple. You won't really know until a professional medical person checks you out and runs some tests. Now GO! <*)))><

I don't understand why you say you can't go to the Doctor. Ask your parents to take you to see one ASAP. This is my suggestion. I work for Eye Doctors & have heared patients complain about Flashes. Flashes happen really fast & only last for a couple of seconds. Some patients have described them as Quick flashes of light & some have said it to be a Quick starburst. Floaters are different. Patients as well describe them differently. Some have complained of seeing a Black Spider, A Black Dot (which can or cannot move around), Spider Webs, Strands of hairs, etc. These can be seen w/ your eyes closed as well. I suggest you seeing a Cornea Specialist for these symptoms. If you are diagnosised w/ a Vitreous Detachment, your Eye Doctor may want to see you again in a couple of months to a year(6months-1yr). Please, if you are an Eye Rubber, DO NOT RUB your eyes till you see an Eye Doctor.
As for your other symptom (fainting), I suggest you going to see a Neuro-Ophthalmologist. There is a Neuro in the practice I work for & his specialty is alittle more involved. So, when looking for an Eye Doctor, make sure you ask for a Neuro-Ophthalmologist. If you want more info on a Neuro, please check out the website below. Please go to an Eye Doctor ASAP, ur only 14 yrs old, don't you want to know what is happening?

It sounds like you do have a medical situation going on in your eye. The worm things you are seeing are most likely things called FLOATERS. Should the vitreous gel pull away from the eye ball it disturbs the vitreous gel and causes the floaters.

You need to share all of this information with your Parents. You need to have a thorough examination with an Ophthalmologist. They will look inside of the eye ball to see what the problem is . THIS IS IMPORTANT. Without a really thorough examination there is a possibility of serious damage to your vision.

I was sure they were the floaters when you said worms. But I ran a search and people can in fact get worms in their eyes through mosquito bites and the eggs being introduced to the blood stream. But You still need to get the the OPHTHALMOLOGIST.

Good Luck.

First of all, this is the wrong place to be asking this question. You are asking amatures for cures and that is not a good idea. If you have any kind of pain that is not normal, especially in the brain, it is always serious and you need to see a doctor immediately to get some real advice instead of taking the expertise off of television shows that have a written script to read from. No one really knows, except a doctor, if the pain is related to the "worm" in your eye.

Worm-looking things in your eye are probably just a group of cells floating around in there. Everyone has them, but we don't usually notice them. I forgot where those cells come from--I used to know.

The other problems, though, are a doctor thing (and yes, ask about the worms, too--there could be more than one cause, or yours could be more severe than normal). You're only 14, but surely your parents/guardian would take you if you're falling down--that's indicative of a possibly serious problem.

They are called floaters and everyone gets them at some point. They are made up of a gel type material in your eye that over time breaks up and "floats" around. It is completly normal and you have nothing to worry about. There is no way to stop or remove them but eventually you will just get used to it. The headaches are not related.

Get your parent or guardian to take you to an ophthalmologist. They are most likely just floaters, but it is worth having a doc check out. Especially since there is occasionally pain. Most likely that is a nerve pain (from a cold, infection or sinus problem), but, again, it should be checked by a doctor.

What the H.e.l.l you been smokin? You better cut back a little...
I can send you some of that good worm medicine that I give my hound dog, Duke. I give him a big dose each time he comes in the livin room and drags his butt across the floor. I hate it when he does that, cause it leaves a long skid mark on the linolium and Juanita has to clean it up.

Now, if'n thems worms are the big night crawlers, let me know I need some to bait my hook!
