i have been to the eye doctors a few times in the last month when i first went in everything that looked clear was near sighted. the computer said i was far sighted... after the docor dialated me eyes everything that was clear was for far sighted.... so he gave me a perscrition based off of what i saw when my eyes were dialated now the problem is i still can see clearly and have tried 4 diffrent perscriptions and still cant see clearly.... what could i do?? should i talk to him about rechecking my eyes and this time not dialating them and go off of that script?

well, my right eye is VERY strong, and when i close my left eye, everything has an outline is is extra-sharp. so, maybe you have something like i have. even with glasses, it can't be perfect. my eye doctor said the sharp thing, they can't make it perfect no matter HOW hard they tried! well only the right eye, but i can still read with my glasses on with my right eye but not clearly, my left eye is fine. but still, they can't make it exactly perfect with everything. am i confusing you? lol.

This sounds like hyperopia, long-sight, with ciliary spasm
(Though aahkansas's suggestion is not at all impossible: undetected diabetes can led to a rapidly varying Rx)

If your eyes had locked into reading mode, they would have appeared short-sighted to you, but the computer and the dilated refraction could have pointed out that the basic prescription was longsighted.

Problem is, if the eyes are used to adding power to compensate for longsight, and also used to holding onto reading mode to reduce fatigue, they often don't stop doing this just because they don't have to (because the glasses Rx is there to take the extra strain).

If this is the case, (I've only got the infomation you've supplied)the answer is principally going to be relaxation eye exercises, to teach your ciliiary muscles to let go of a job they're trying too hard on.
