I have night and day contacts that are supposed to last for a month. However, I have the same contacts now for 4 months. And they don't bother me at all. I have never cleaned them since the day I put them on because I can wear it all day.

Is this bad? My eyes don't hurt at all, they feel perfectly fine.

Well that's bad, really bad!! I'm not doing it to save money, I'm just too lazy to take them off. But that's foolish of me.

It's very bad, but you can very easily get away with it for a while, right up until the point where suddenly you can't.

I suggest you drive on your tyres til they're bald.
You can save money that way, too. And often get away with it.

You are increasing the risk of infections, of toxic reaction from epithelial cell debris and protein deposits, as well as of problems with contact lens tolerance in future years.

But it's your eyes, it's your bet.

Technically, no, although I do it all the time. I have been wearing soft contacts for thirteen years and wear my six week disposables until they are physically damaged. I think whether or not it is "alright" has a lot to do with luck and the wearer. I would never sleep in them for that long though. A good friend of mine got ulcers in his cornea doing that. Night and day contacts do let a lot more oxygen into your eye, but having your iris covered by a foreign body for four months is a little much. Maybe it is time to invest in a pair of glasses that you could wear on the weekends to give your eyes a break. Eh...only a suggestion. Just be careful, and if they start to get blurry (like you are looking through a dirty window), your eyes feel dry or itchy for no reason, or you have any kind of pain of discomfort, toss those bad boys and break out a new pair. Merry Christmas and good luck!

Whether your lenses are supposed to last a day or a month, it’s not a good idea to save a few bucks by stretching out their life span.Even when you clean and disinfect them, lenses and lens cases become coated with germs and protein over time.At the very least, wearing contacts past their prime can irritate your eyes, forcing you to wear clunky glasses while your eyes recover. At worst, you can develop an infectious corneal ulcer that leaves scar tissue, reducing your vision or — in extremely rare cases — causing permanent blindness. Replacing lenses with new ones as directed will ensure that you see clearly and avoid issues with your eyes.

You're asking for trouble even though there seems to not be any at the time. Quit being a cheapskate and do the right thing- you only get one pair of eyes.....

.....and besides- the docs know when you are non compliant!

Some "short-term" contacts are the very same ones we used to wear for years. They are marketed differently, but as they say, "Same whore, different dress" The point being, one never can be sure given your brand, but your optometrist will shoot you straight, most likely.

properly, once you first start up out with comfortable contacts, they should sense fantastically organic to you. i could choose for 3-4 hours the 1st day and improve a million-2 hours accepted. it is okay to positioned on them longer, yet your checklist could have defined this all to you once you have been procuring them. good luck!
