"i should be able to see without glasses "

Not quite. That's the ideal, and the aim during surgery, but in no way is at a guaranteed outcome, such that anything else has to be the result of mistake or negligence.
The parameters for IOL power selection are still being developed. There is not yet a definitive algorithm that will cope with all eyes and types of cataract without occasionally mis-predicting.

It's not even assured that the vision will be good *with* glasses after the operation. (A small proportion of people have reactions at the macula leading to a permanent reduction of vision, for example.)

You imply that you do have good vision with glasses. That's good as it eliminates possibilites such as macular oedema and capsular opacification, though the latter can occur up to about 18 month after the operation.

If your residual Rx is sufficiently large to require a correction, you have a range of choices.
Have a glasses Rx, probably multifocal unless you had multifocal implants.
Consider Lasik surgery, aiming for clear distance vision.
(you will still need reading glasses, again unless you had multifocal implants)
Ask that the intraocular implant be replaced with one of a different focus. This can usually be done, but incurs risks similar to the original surgery.

Talk to your eye doctor. Your expectations my have been too high. I know my sister had it done and she kept saying she should have eagle eye vision and she should not wear her glasses. After a year she went to a new doctor and he said she had cataracts on both side of her lens. She has had it removed now. Yet she will always need glasses.
