Hi I was planning on ordering contacts but they did not have the same base curve as my current contacts. My perscribed base curve was 8.4 but I wanted to try a different contact lenses that don't dry out as easily.

I am currently wearing the Acuvue Oasys with a BC of 8.4 and a diameter of 14. These for some reason still have the dry feeling on my eyes after 8 hours of wearing them and I was planning on ordering the Acuvue Advance with a BC of 8.3 and a diameter of 14.

Is it truly okay for me to wear the contact lenses with a different base curve even though it is not the same one that was perscribed to me. Will there be any concequences in term of long term health of my vision? And if anyone has used the Acuvue Oasys and the Acuvue Advance could you guys give me feedback on which one you believe is better.

Thanks for the help!

When I was younger, my eyes were more brown than anything. there was a little green around the edges. Now they are mostly green with a little brown around the middle. Has anyone else noticed an eye color change as an adult?

I've got a friend who wears -1.50 eyeglasses. She claims she can't see anything without them. Yet I have a higher prescription (-3.50 and -3.75) and I can function without them (Im not very comfortable but I wouldn't die if I had to take them off)
So, the question here is: is he just overreacting? or am I the "exception" here?

My friend, 37, complains about his eye sight going blurry. He says it's like a circle in the center of his focus, and it last up to a half hour. He says it happens about every three to six months. What could it be? I'm willing to investigate any options.

I started wearing concave lens in 2001 cause I am short sighted(myopia). People claim eye socket does not change but mine has. I was cute before but now without my spectacles I am too ugly. My eyes are inward. Will I ever go to my normal looks if I stop wearing them after I do like laser?I am 20 male.

EyeRelax is supposed to be a visual-spectrum medical device clinically programmed to improve shortsightedness or myopia commonly cause by tired eyes.

Its light-spectrum technology supposedly stimulates the retina cells and vision nerves to improve the photosensitivity of the eyes. It is also supposed to be enhanced with visual near-far stimulation to effectively prevent and control myopia caused by tired ciliary muscle.

any comments about these claims?

I keep having to screw in the left side of my eyeglasses each time--or otherwise my lense will pop out.

Why does this keep happening every few weeks or so? What's the reasoning behind it? Are the glasses we wear naturally defective? Or does the vision gods have a vendetta against us near-sighted mortals?

You can buy reading glasses cheap, without a prescription. You only have to know a single number, such as 1.75 or 3.50, indicating how powerful the reading glasses should be, according to how bad your eyesight is.

What does an ordinary eyeglasses prescription look like? Does it have more than one such number? One for each eye, or what? Are they the same kind of numbers? What do they mean, in terms of units of measure or whatever?

In my eye prescription, it says my OD - CYL is -.25. For my OS - CYL it says "sph". What does that mean? Does that mean it's the same as my OS - SPH, which is -2.25? I don't understand eye presrcriptions! Please help!

Hello, I write because of my friend. shes constantly wearing her glasses since she's kurzsichtig. I have nothing against them however, i would be delighted if she could take them off for a couple of hours at partys, clubs . she doesnt like the idea. Now I have found by coincidental an eyeglass passport found with the werten. I would have now gladly known whether her vision is that bad and whether it is not to be zuzumuten it really to at least sometimes go some time without eyeglasses. In the passport were located the following. OD Sphere -4.25 -1.5 100°// OS Sphere -4.00 -2.0 50°

I have to work in an air conditioned place and I've had a problem that other's don't seem to have. That is, when I walk around the building, in about 30 minutes my eyes are becoming irritated, and I often have to close them or use eye drops so they won't feel so dry. I thought of going to the doctor, but is there really a permanent solution he/she could offer, besides, maybe, surgery, which I am unwilling to do? Or is there simply any advice someone could give me?
Thanks for the help.

I've never had it checked because I always thought it was due to my new job working on the computer for straight 8 hours a day. My eyes hurt, burned, it was throbbing in a sense that I just wanted to pluck them out so that the pain will go away.

DO you think I have the fungus infection that can cause blindness?

Like if I went somewhere, and don't have my solution with me, can I just store them in urine, since its sterile and even used to clean wounds. I know its a better option than water or saliva.

I have pretty good eyesight, for far away stuff that is. I already know that I can see better far-sighted than near sighted... I have to squint to read stuff up close, like a book. I love to read but i'm tired of straining my eyes and getting headaches so I thought I would get a pair of reading glasses just for work and reading books. I don't want to get an eye exam though because there is no point. So can I purchase a pair of reading glasses without an exam???
