My friend, 37, complains about his eye sight going blurry. He says it's like a circle in the center of his focus, and it last up to a half hour. He says it happens about every three to six months. What could it be? I'm willing to investigate any options.

He MUST see an opthalmologist as soon as possible. Everyone should take visual disturbances seriously. This isn't a just wait and see what happens kind of thing. He's especially at risk for visual complications if he is diabetic. He needs to have all conditions ruled out including Cataract, Detached Retina, Tumor or a vascular problem. Urge your friend to see a specialist soon. I'm sure he doesn't want to fool around with his eyesight. Good luck to him.

Not quite sure of how it's called, but consulting an optometrist would be a great idea. I can recall seeing that kind of symptome while studying the eye in Biology class. Don't take it lightly, it isn't.

It could be serious - something like a cataract or a tear in the retina. He really needs to get to a doctor and have it checked out.

Might be he suffers from dry eyes, still eyes are important. He needs to see an eye specialist rather than GP.

Sounds like he's caught/catching an on and off eye infection or he's loosing his ability to see. Take him to the doctors and get that seen of as soon as possible.
