Not anymore than carrots can improve your eyesight.

I am not an expert but I am also short sighted. Not wearing glasses when you need them increases eye strain (and headaches) and can make your eyesight worse.

When I first found out I needed glasses they said that it wasn't very bad so I didn't get them. Then about a year later in casual conversation I found out that my eyesight was horrible. I went and got it checked out and they had gone down dramatically. As soon as I started wearing glasses all the time then my eyes stopped changing.

Good enough proof for me!

No. With a few rare exceptions it doesn't matter one way or the other. The eyes will do in the future whatever they were gong to dop anyway.
Wear your glasses as much or as little as suits you, in the absence of detailed advice form you prescriber.

Walking around in a complete blur does no harm optically (it may wreck your social life as you ignore friends across the street!) once clear of the age range where amblyopia might start (by mid teenage).
