Hi I was planning on ordering contacts but they did not have the same base curve as my current contacts. My perscribed base curve was 8.4 but I wanted to try a different contact lenses that don't dry out as easily.
I am currently wearing the Acuvue Oasys with a BC of 8.4 and a diameter of 14. These for some reason still have the dry feeling on my eyes after 8 hours of wearing them and I was planning on ordering the Acuvue Advance with a BC of 8.3 and a diameter of 14.
Is it truly okay for me to wear the contact lenses with a different base curve even though it is not the same one that was perscribed to me. Will there be any concequences in term of long term health of my vision? And if anyone has used the Acuvue Oasys and the Acuvue Advance could you guys give me feedback on which one you believe is better.

Changing to an 8.3 base curve from an 8.4 is fine because that it only a slight difference. I work for an optometrist, just going with an 8.3 it just makes it a tighter fit. if it is uncomfortable then go back to the 8.4 but you should be fine with that

No. You will need to be refitted by your eye doctor.
BTW, Oasys is better for dry eye than Advance, so I don't think you will solve your problem
See your fitter to discuss options for dry eye.
