Its not ridiculous and I would think the dispensing optician above me would know about this. Its called Ortho-K. They are rigid contact lenses that reshape the cornea while you sleep so that when you take them out, for about a day or so, you can see without glasses or contact lenses. Check out this website:

Hope this helps!

This is possibly the most peculiar question I have seen on this site. There is NO such thing. I think you either misunderstood him or he has come up with something which would rock the optical world. The only thing I can think of is a myotic drug. Simply put a drug that makes your pupil v. small. Without going into the reasons yes you would see better. Only trouble is you won't be able to see in the dark, you field of vision will be reduced and everyone will think you on heroin. This is nonsense! Okay your latest answer below. What is the the gas permeabilty of these rigid lenses, if they cause corneal oadema you will probably see worse and finally what is the point.

He was referring to ortho keratology contact lenses. You will need to return to the doctor for fitting for this.

Cost of ortho k is upwards of $1500, so you need to decide if you want to do it or not and whether you can afford it.

Google Ortho-K. Quite expensive, but reports are positive.
