I have severe muscle spasms in my neck/shoulders. I also have peripheral neuropathy that affects my arms and legs. I have arthritis in my neck and lower back. I have loose ligaments in my shoulders that cause pain - and should keep my shoulder muscles strong to ease that pain.

Walking too much hurts. I'm told that lifting light weights can worsen muscle spasms - so can't exercise those muscles. Too much activity period makes me hurt worse.

Any suggestions? I'm on a ton of meds -one for tachycardia....so too much activity increases my pulse - and then I feel crappy with my heart pounding.

Anyone who has seen a doctor for back pain before:
I've had severe low back pain for 4-5 days and today it got so bad that I made an appointment this afternoon with my doctor. What will she do? Is it ok that I took 600mg Ibuprofen? I couldn't sit or lie down and it was getting harder to stand. Now at least I can sit.

I have a severed nerve in my back, (one that is a major nerve to the scapular) caused by the slip of a surgeons knife during a simple biopsy. Has anyone got any suggestions as to 're grow' or 'reattach' the nerve and ease the pain and strain??? And no, I cant sue the hospital!

I am going to the physio again to ease the pain but i want some more ideas...

This happened in 2001.
Thanking you in advance

When I walk down on my foot I feel a sharp pain go up my leg almost to my knee cap. I do not have bruising or swelling just a lot of veins popping out of my foot (which is not normal for me). Someone told me it could be a pinched nerve, but I did not do anything to my leg. I have no insurance and was curious what I should do.

It has been going on for 4 days now.

Thanks!

this is a very strange question, but I'm wondering if its possible to somehow strain your bladder muscle. I have suddenly had a lot of pain in my lower abdomen right where my bladder is. Its fine if Im laying down, but if I stand up and move the wrong way I have a shooting pain. However that is my only symptom. I cant figure out what could be wrong. I appreciate your help.

I had back surgery in 1994 and have had problems ever since. In 2001 I started tking 10-325 norco for the pain. For a few years I would take 3 a day. last year my Dr. dropped me to 4 5-325s a day. This didnt help. I figure my tolerance is higher now. I went to a neurologist and they said I have 2 more ruptured discs along with degenerative disc disease. They are giving me the same, 4 5-325 a day so that means i'm taking 2 5-325s four times a day. I know im not suppose to take scripts from different Drs. But Im scared if I tell them 4 isnt helping they wont give anything to me. I DO NOT want surgery again. I have to support my family and newborn son. Besides by taking 8 5-325s a day its still very painfull but I am still able to function somewhat. What should I do? I know the pills are bad for my liver and my Drs will be mad but I still have to take care of my family and if they operate AGAIN im screwed. Please help. Thanks

I have been taking roughly 2 to 5 vicodins a day since december 2006. I am dead set determined to quit now. I don't crave them at all, even when I stopped for a couple days, but the ONLY withdrawel I seem to get is the legs cramps. I don't want advice saying to see my doctor because at the moment I have no insurance. And I dont want to hear to turn to methodone or other drugs to ease off. I want off the drugs, not subsitute one for another. I would like to hear any advice at all on beating the leg cramps. Hot baths help but only when I'm in the tub, and leg rubs work well from my fiance but he can only rub so much. Ibuprofin does nothing. They become so bad I will wake at all hours of the night almost in tears, twisting and turning my legs in every direction. I would also like to know honestly about how long the leg cramps will last but I would like to hear from someone who has gone through this themselves and not someone guessing please. Thank you very much
