No it isn't worth keeping. Too many women who run into trouble with the coil, just grin and bear it far longer than they should. ( I can't imagine most men doing this! )

There appear to be at least 2 problems, firstly the uterus is contracting, trying to expel it, sometimes this indicates low grade infection such as actinomycetes, which is difficult to confirm until you take out the coil and culture it, swabs often don't pick it up. Secondly it may be that even the small doses of progesterone are affecting your mood state.

You don't give you age, nor your future intentions as far as pregnancy is concerned. If your family is definitely complete you might consider sterilisation. The correct spelling of which is V-A-S-E-C-T-O-M-Y!!

I lasted 7 months. I think the mirena coil is a form of torture. I was constantly told that it was in correctly but I could feel the sodding thing in me the whole time. Eventually I went into "labour" as my body was rejecting it. The worst pain in the world ever. Am now taking Loestrin and haven't had a proper period in over a year. Yay!!!!!

I've had 2 of these over the last 7 yrs and I've never had trouble either with my moods or my body. But if you don't think it's suits you I'd recommend seeing your doctor about trying a different one.

logically this does not sound like it's a good idea to keep suffering when this can be removed. I would recommend you get this removed as soon as possible. pain is always an indication that something is not right. See your medical doctor.

I had awful experience with merana coil, i think it even brought my depression back.
The dr refused to remove it , i had terrible cramps! i was uncomfortable with it the whole time it was in! I would never go back on it!
