You should call the doctor you had prior to moving and ask him/her for a referral for a doctor in the LA area. Actually, you should have had this done before you moved! I agree with the first responder that if you didn't have a legal script for them to begin with, you're gonna have a hard time finding a dr. to accomodate you with a script for oxycontin.
If you have a legitimate need, chronic pain, and have medical records to back this up, call one of the area hospitals and see if they have a "Physician Finders" service and tell them you need help finding a pain management specialist.
If you're just looking for oxy for recreational use, there are numerous rehab facilities in LA.....good luck.

If that was what was prescribed to you before you moved you should not have a problem getting a doctor who will follow your last doctors orders. Surely you brought your medical records with you? If not, I'm sure they can be faxed to a new physician after consent forms are signed.
If no past doctor, then guess you are just out of luck!!
Things don't usually go to well if you go in asking for a particular medication, especially one so addicting and dangerous. They sometimes question your reasoning, and most likely won't comply.
Your screen name pretty much says it all, though doesn't it?
You'd be better off asking for a good Rehab in L.A.
If you are fishing for doctors on this site you must be hitting a bottom to your addiction anyway, cause it seems pretty desperate.

I have to echo the sentiments of the other two answerers. You should have gotten a referral from your previous pain doctor. Since you didn't,. you can try the physisican finder on this website: http://www.aapainmanage.org/info/Patients.php
You will have to have your medical records which will contain a record of what you were prescribed, when, and how much. If your doctor at your previous pain clinic had you on it and it works well for you, you shouldn't have a problem. If there was no pain clinic, if there are no records, you're out of luck.

I would suggest going to a pain management doctor for treatment of your pain. They will probably prescribe the medication if they feel you need it. Good luck! You can get recommendations of doctors in the LA area at www.webmd.com and www.discoveryhealth.com

Good luck. I can't even get anything stronger than darvocet. Doctors aren't prescribing that stuff now-a-days like they used too. Too many addicts milking the system.
