We need a lot more information to answer this question. Exactly where on the back are the balls? How big are they? Do they seem to be on the bones or in the muscles? Do they cause any, and if so what kind of, pain? Are you having any trouble walking?

Tensed muscles. It could be that you have strained the muscles in your back. If it is along your spine, you could have some major damage. I would say to go to the doctor just to be sure.
Only you can tell if you have strained yourself or if its something more serious.
