Pain & Pain Management - December 2006

Went to MD. Diagnosis, swimmers' ear. Had allergic response to neomycin. Swollen, itching and bleeding. Went to specialist. Same diagnosis. Cleaned ears. Says it will take time, But in the meantime .....I am quite unhappy. Any advice appreciated.

I have a pain every now and then on my right side between my rib cage and top of my hip and to the right of my belly button! It hurts when I breathe in or sometimes if I move to quickly. The deeper I breathe the more it hurts - kinda like a stabbing pain! Is it anything to be concerned about?

Ok, I know I'll regret this, but I need to ask about something.

Lately, whenever I go to the bathroom(defecate, nor urinate), I feel this extreme pain in a certain area. It started about yesterday, and almost always there is blood as well. I just want to know how serious this, or why.
Please no jokes.

Hello, I have been having trouble with my back for 3 years. It started because of heavy sitting and traveling. Initially I had lower back pain. I took chiropractic and physical therapy about 1 and half year back. Then the lower back pain reduced. But suddenly it started in the upper back very severely. Don't what happened. That chiropractor used to press in my upper back. I was thinking that might be the reason. But what ever the reason it may be, all of sudden my upper back became very stiff and started paining. It also spread to legs. When I am sitting, the muscles around the knee pain a lot. Sometimes I get headache when I am sitting a lot. Someone please suggest me which treatment, specialist should I see. Thanks in advance.

I woke up with terrible lower back pain on the lower left part of my back. Im 19 years old, and i dont remember doing anything that would have caused the pain. I tried icing it and took some pain relievers, and it still hurts really bad. can anyone help or know whats wrong?

i am taking midol for cramps, which is instructed for every 8 hours. however, i have recently had 3 wisdom teeth pulled and ibuprofen seems to help. can i take an ibuprofen after the midol?

When I'm sad, angry, stressed, tired or when I listen to loud music, I always have a pain in the same place on my head.It really hurts and only if I sleep it gets better..Is it migraine? Or something different? What can I do for it?

I have been taking DHC for 2 yrs. For pretty severe pain,however, I was hospitalised with this a few weeks ago. (They will operate as soon as I'm well enough, it's gall bladder related), since the hospital treatment, they just make me feel sick all of the time. I wanted to get back to normal, as I knew I was addicted so I burnt them all. I'm on pethidin also. This doen't take away the pain. It's been 3 days now. With no DHC and I feel terrible. When will the symptoms start getting better and is there any web pages to help? With 2 young kids i can;t afford to feel like this.

I am a 22 yrs old male, still studying in computer related courses and suffering from continuous neck pain. i have no accident history, dont drink and smoking. I'm getting so frustated because this pain interrupt my every activities. This pain begin about 2 yrs ago. Before that i had some pain at my back. One day, while i was doing a programming assignment, my neck suddenly felt pain and i thought it was temporary. Sometimes i got some massage but it has only temporary effect. The neck pain also goes to the shoulder. I cannot avoid from computer and i had this doctor from the government hospital which told me my neck bone is alright (after x-ray) and probably my muscle is stiffened. I'm getting angry coz i'm suffering and need some advice, maybe from a chiropractic practitioner. I have no other symptoms. Sometimes i use the neck collar to ease my pain when sitting in front of computer. The Voren pills aint working and i also used muscle balm.

Awhile ago I had a mini stroke and was perscribed to take asprin. My question is how does Tylenol or acetaminophen interact with the asprin for aches and pains and headaches? Any suggestions would be great

For these past two days I have been awoken by my chest pain. It's a little bit lower then my breasts in the center of my body.

it has woken me up and hurts so badly that it takes hours to stop hurting.... yesterday it started at 2 AM and I didn't get to bed until 9 AM...

I had My hip broken in a car accident in 1977, I had six surgeries to try and repair my hip over the years before I had a full hip replacement at age 31. I had porcelain on plastic.... I work as a bartender, I have starded to have pain again steady now for about 3 months, is this normal? So far I havnt found anything to ease the pain......Do you think it would alrealy be time to have another hip replacement?? Do you have any ideas for pain relief suggestions? I have tried Ibuprofen, this doesnt seem to be working at all for me!!! Any suggestions for me????/ Thanks Ali
