Pain & Pain Management - December 2006

My mother has taken me to the doctor and she says it's growing pains, but I've had growing pains and they felt nothing like this, also, I haven't grown for the past two years. And it only hurts in my right knee...does anyone know why?? I do not rememeber hurting it, and I can't stand taking meds, they make me puke and feel lightheaded. Does anyone know why my knee is doing this?? My mother has gotten many opinions on it and they all don't know!! They all tell my mom that they aren't sure but they think it's growing pains!! I have had these pains for almost a year now an my other leg is starting to hurt b/c i'm putting more weight on it. Why is my knee doing this!?

I don't actually have a fever(considered 101 and above I believe), just 99.5 with drowsiness and achiness. Is Aleve a good pain reliever/fever reducer? After having gum surgery the doctor said Aleve does a better job at handling the body's thermostat than Tylenol which does exactly the opposite of what the body is trying to do. It brings up the fever to fight the germs, whereas bringing it down so much works against the body's natural thermostat. Can anyone help me figure this out?

I have horrible menstrual cramps and pains especially around my lower stomach. Every day I lie in bead moaning because of how bad the pain is.

If there is any advice to get rid of some serious pain, please let me know!

My brother is suffering with heavy pain in the hip. When he puts body wait on that particualr side (while walking) he is feeling heavy pain. He palys ball badminton regualarly and he is teacher he should stand 5 - 6 hours for a day, his age is 37 years.

I'm 33 weeks.pregnant, so you can imagine... sore back... aching muscles... not to mention i'm still working on my feet so it doesn't help much...

I was just wondering if it was ok to use something like icy hot at the end of the day, or would it hurt the baby somehow. I forgot to ask my doctor last time i visited him so I thought I would just ask here in the meantime.

Does any one out htere know of any home remedies that help with menstrual cramps? I amm allergic to Ibuprofen and other pain pills does not work or they have a form of ibuprofen in it. So I really cant take them. If anyone knows any form of hme remedies I would be more then happy to take them into consideration!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH

i have this pain eeverytime i breathe on the right side of my chest[almost like someones taking something pokky and jabbing me with it.].and it hurts a bit on my upper right side too.. it's obviously not my heart cause then my left side would be hurting. whats on my right side that would do this. should i be worried or will it go away.?? help anyone.

I recently lost my health insurance. I have a very painful female condition and it requires very powerful pain medication like, Vicodin and Loretab. I wanted to know which are the best online sites to buy medication if you don't have a prescription? As far as getting the real thing and all? I get a throbbing pain in the back left side of my head, usually after masturbating... at first the pain was there only a short period after masturbating , but now it's hurting longer. I can't get to the store today, and I have a bad sinus pain headache. Is there a home remedy I could try? I don't have eucalyptus oil (someone had told me to try boiling it and breathing the steam but I don't have any). I keep putting a warm towel on my face and it feels good, but as soon as I stop the pain is there again. Help! This is so uncomfortable.

When I swallow, it hurts, and I can feel and hear something move. It sounds like a bone moving. The doctor said she saw nothing and I don't have an infection. She gave me 800 mg ibuprofen for the pain, which helps, but I still wonder what the pain is from and why I hear that weird noise. Has anyone had something like this happen?

I was sitting in class and I think it was my jaw well there was a cracking noise and it just started hurting and it still does

the one thing my mom tried staying positive was that I have a hearing problem (my hammer anvil and stirrup, the three bones inside the ear, are somehow glued together) and my mom thinks they might have unglued themselves. My son is 44 years of age and was injured on the job 2 years ago. He injured 4 disc in spine. He has been to local doctors and has been tthrough all types of pain management procedures, the last being a morphine pump in spine. Nothing has worked. He has been told there is nothing they can do for him because the four disc are next to each other. Help.
